Walking for the Cure for Breast Cancer

Breaking News - Nov 3, 2014 - My first 2015 walk was fully funded!  Thank you!

Welcome to my website that provides information on why I walk in the "Susan G. Komen 3-day for the Cure" events.  This year, seven walks will be held across the United States to raise funds for research, education and support for those affected by breast cancer.

The 2014 walks, with five completed and two to go, have continued to be life changing events, not only for myself but all who participate in them.  The focus and determination to make a difference in the lives of those affected by breast cancer never diminishes as we strive to find a cure and to help those affected by it. To be a part of this special community is truly a privilege and one that I cherish dearly.

For 2015, I have initially registered for three walks, with pretty high certainty to registering for more. As in 2014, I would love to walk in all 2015 walks, but need to find outside sponsorship from either the airlines or those with frequent flyer miles, willing to donate them towards my travel as travel expenses are not only high but something I do not seek monetary contributions for.  Simply stated, I would rather have your monetary donations go directly towards research, education and community support, not my travel expenses.

From a fundraising perspective, I will require $2300 for each walk I participate in, currently $6900. In today's economy, this can be a difficult matter, but I know that with the amazing supporters that I have and some super fundraisers that are in the plans, we will meet this goal together.  I'm excited about the opportunity and the challenge.  I hope you will take this journey with me, for you are the ones that make it all possible.

On my website, you will find information on:Thank you again for spending a few minutes reading about why I, and many others, walk to make a difference in the fight against breast cancer. More importantly, I offer my thanks for helping the many people affected by breast cancer, their families and friends and to the many survivors who are a living testimony to the advancements made in breast cancer research.  All of these people are my heroes as they continue to show their courage, optimism and strength as they deal with breast cancer. For these many people, thank you.
